Vale Philip Eyles #026

I will Add a Pic of Phils Trophy when I get one

Philip Wesley Eyles, Aka Angel Eyes born 26/05/1961. Phil Joined Silverdale Pistol Club in 2000 and quickly became involved in the running and organising of the club, first being voted to a committee position in 2006 and then being promoted to the club Captain in 2009. Phil led the outlaw group of Colonial action shooters as Bushranger Angel eyes the captain of the Bushranger creek bunch and led them to a state title in March 2006 at the colonial action.

Always an active member of the club and committee, in 2003 when the firearms act changed to ban pistols over .38, Phil was instrumental in getting the field pistol match added to the club approval allowing the members to keep their high calibre pistol and compete in a compliant match, as such the yearly field pistol trophy has been renamed The Phil Eyles Perpetual Filed Pistol Trophy.

Away from Club involvement Phil worked security in Cash transport, although he spent 4 years at the university of New South Wales studying Geology, Phil never took a job in the mining industry as it would have taken him away from his Family for extended periods. We use to joke that the only time that degree paid off was back in the early 2000's when FAR came out to do a range inspection and wanted to shut us down because the back stop was made of sand stone and apparently a ricochet hazard. Phil was quick to put the inspector right and explain the composition of the stone and negate the risk.

While at Uni Phil was part of the New South Wales Sydney University Army reserve unit serving in a mortar section.

Phil Will be sadly missed by all at Silverdale Pistol Club.
